Truck Carrying Ammonium Nitrate On I-81 Overturns Creating Traffic Mess

A truck carrying ammonium nitrate overturned on I-81 in Maryland early Monday, June 26, evacuating local businesses and closing the southbound side of the highway completely, officials said.

The incident happened around 6:15 a.m. in Hagerstown, Maryland State Police said.

The northbound lanes of I-81 were reopened later on Monday morning, but motorists have still been advised to avoid the area.
